THE AMERICAN DREAM

The 2006 opening of Amanda Touch of Color Salon was proof that the American Dream is still alive, that vision and hard work can open up endless opportunities for those with the talent and determination to succeed. Salon owner Amanda Saephan is a perfect example of this, her inspirational story is a testament to the power of hard work and dedication.

In 1987, Amanda joined the ranks of the immigrants seeking to make a better life for herself and her family in the United States, as a refugee from a small farming village in Laos. Over the last 25 years, she has single-mindedly pursued her goals and ambitions as an artist and entrepreneur.

Amanda and her family have always been grateful to the US for welcoming them into the country and giving them the opportunity to make an honest living. Because of her background, Amanda takes nothing for granted and understands the value of taking pride in her craft, constantly seeking ways to improve.

ARTISTRY, TALENT, EXPERIENCE

After many years of working hard to pay her way through college, Amanda graduated from the Edward Wadsworth Institute for Hair Design in Portland, Oregon. In the City of Roses, she learned how to run a business, opening a renowned salon called 'Professionally Yours.'

Amanda's passion for her craft means that she continually strives to master new techniques, through continued education classes and professional workshops. In 2001, she became a Schwarzkopf Certified Advanced Hair Color Specialist, fulfilling her dream of becoming a true artiste with complete mastery of her craft.

With over 19 years experience in the industry, Amanda has an impressive array of professional credentials and qualifications, and her illustrious clientele includes Seattle news anchors and politicians. Amanda's work has been featured locally on KCPQ 13, and nationally on CNN. Her artistry, talent, dedication, and warm personality have earned customer loyalty, with 90% of her clientele arriving as referrals from other satisfied customers.

Amanda loves her work, not just the chance to display her artistry and unique sense of style, but the day-to-day meeting with customers, old and new. Like any true artist, she is a perfectionist and strives to make sure that every single customer leaving her salon is delighted with their look.

REMEMBERING HER ROOTS

Outside the salon, Amanda's life is just as busy, and she loves to cook and spend time as a singer in her church's choir as well as other volunteer position. She also volunteers her service at Children's Hospital.

Amanda has never forgotten her roots, and she spends time and money visiting South East Asia, trying to put something back into the community. She acts as an interpreter for a mobile medical clinic, this dedication culminating in a trip back to Thailand, and she intends to return next year, visiting remote villages in Thailand and Laos as part of an ongoing program. She also serves in short term mission trips to SE Asia such as couples retreat, women retreat, youth and adult retreat in Thailand.

I love my job and the opportunity it gives me to help my clients look and feel great. During a consultation, I consider such factors as the shape of the face, hair type and skin tone, as well as occupation and lifestyle. My goal for each client is to give them a look that best compliments their personality and allows them to truly be themselves.
